WANT TO REDUCE SHIPPING COSTS AND INCREASE COMPETITION? WHY NOT JOIN THE PIEDMONT RACING PIGEON COMBINE?

Any club along the following corridor is eligible to join: beginning in Orangeburg, SC traveling 26W to 77N to Gastonia, NC.

Proceeding from there to 85S to Spartanburg, SC and on to the release points which are in a SW direction. Exact release points have not yet been determined, however we will be flying from 100mi to 500miles as usual.

If your club does not wish to join the combine, but would like to ship on the Piedmont trailer, they may do so for a fee.

If interested please call, Frank McDonough @ 864-587-7630 or e-mail, frankmcd7@yahoo.com

The Spartanburg County Racing Pigeon club is located in North Western South Carolina

The Spartanburg County Racing Pigeon club is located in North Western South Carolina.

Centered around Spartanburg, SC, we have members as far south as Clinton, SC and as far north as Tryon, NC.

We are sanctioned by the American Racing Union and we are a member club of the Piedmont Racing Pigeon Combine.

We are also members of the Dixie Southern Racing Pigeon Association and in 2009 hosted the Annual Dixie Southern Convention held in Spartanburg, SC.

The Piedmont Racing Pigeon Combine is a combination of clubs that compete against each other as a whole and as individual clubs.

The ability to compete in the combine increases the competition level and helps keep costs down. There are currently 4 clubs competing in the Combine:

Spartanburg  Pigeon Racing Club (AU/SCO)

For the past 5 or 6  years in January the Combine has hosted the Annual AU Southeast Region Zone meeting. Combined with guest speakers, a show and an auction it is a fun event to attend and is growing every year.

We combined efforts with the North Carolina Combine to increase competition and together in 2010 we formed the Carolina Concourse.

The Carolina Concourse expands that competition by allowing us to compete with clubs as far north as Virginia.

We fly 2 race series a year. Old bird series are flown in the spring of the year and Young bird series are flown in the fall. Using the I85 corridor we currently race from the SW direction from as far out as Hattiesburg, MS.

Other people associated with our club are:

Merl Emerson Established and operated the Americas King Cup series for 7 years in Florida. He is back in operation running the Emerson Hall of Fame race series in Roebuck, SC.

Frank Espisito Owned and operated Espos East Coast Challenge for 7 years. He has teamed up with Danny Hutchins to start the AMERICAS international challenge one loft race in Woodruff, SC.

Both of these men now live in our area and as members, bring a lot of knowledge and experience along with a whole new level of excitement to our club and the area. If you are looking for a place to enjoy and race pigeons our area is fast becoming the place to be. If you are already in this area and are looking for a way to increase your level of competition or save on shipping cost, give us a try.
